GAC Orthodontics
Braces
Just as aerodynamic detail is critical to an aircraft, morphologic design is critical to an orthodontic bracket. MicroArch is designed to flow along the arch wire for optimal aesthetics. The low profile was created by combining original bracket programming research with the latest in Computer Aided Design and Computer Numerated Controlled milling. All brackets are milled from bars of aerospace- strength steel to avoid the variations casting or injection molding may cause. The tie wings are then triple chamfered to eliminate sharp edges and facilitate arch wire insertion. Accordingly, patient comfort and orthodontic precision have not been equaled by any other steel appliance. When GAC prints specifications, we produce them. That's why we say nothing is as good as a MicroArch bracket.
Stainless Steel Braces
Braces use steady, gentle pressure over time to move your teeth into proper position. Modern advances in orthodontics have made braces a less noticeable and more desirable alternative for improving the appearance of your teeth. Due to new technologies, they are more comfortable, the treatment times are shorter and require fewer visits.
Clear Ceramic Braces
Ceramic braces are worn on the front of the teeth just like traditional steel braces, but unlike metal braces they blend with the color of the teeth for a much less noticeable appearance. Ceramic braces are harder than metal braces, work just as effectively, and will not stain.
Gold Braces
These gold braces are part of a synchronized system of distinctive 24-carat gold-plated orthodontic brackets and
archwires, and represent the latest advances in both beauty and technology.
The luster of these distinctive gold-plated braces is reminiscent of fine quality jewelry, creating a stunning new smile that instantly sets you apart from the crowd.
here may be an additional fee assessed if gold braces are chosen.
Multi-colored Ties
The "tin grin" look that agonized wearers of orthodontic braces in the past has given way to a rainbow of possibilities.
There are some new developments in multicolored elastic ties (small rubber bands that hold wire to a bracket on each tooth). Braces wearers can choose a variety of colors from dayglow to just plain gray. The ties can be changed
at each appointment, so wearers can sport new colors regularly. And what are the most popular colors? Turquoise, watermelon, black and blue.

Removable Appliances
Removable appliances may be used to move selected teeth, to hold selected teeth in place, to influence growth of the jaws, and to influence tooth eruption. They are often used in conjunction with fixed appliances.
Removable appliances cannot be used to treat all orthodontic problems. It takes skill and experience to recognize conditions that can be successfully treated with removable appliances.
Because the patient can easily remove the appliance, good compliance is required to achieve the desired outcome.
Palate Expanders
Palate expanders expand the upper jaw to allow more room for the permanent teeth to come in, or to correct bite problems. They should be worn at all times unless otherwise directed.
Growth Appliances

Headgear, Herbst, and Bionators
Correcting jaw-growth problems is done by the process of dentofacial orthopedics. Some of the more common orthopedic appliances used by orthodontists today that help the length of the upper and lower jaws become more compatible include:
Headgear: This appliance applies pressure to the upper teeth and upper jaw to guide the rate and direction of upper jaw growth and upper tooth eruption. The headgear may be removed by the patient and is usually worn 10 to 12 hours per day.
Herbst: The Herbst appliance is usually fixed to the upper and lower molar teeth and may not be removed by the patient. By holding the lower jaw forward and influencing jaw growth and tooth positions, the Herbst appliance can help correct severe protrusion of the upper teeth.
Bionator: This removable appliance holds the lower jaw forward and guides eruption of the teeth into a more desirable bite while helping the upper and lower jaws to grow in proportion with each other. Patient compliance in wearing this appliance is essential for successful improvement.
